A new year often finds us taking a fresh look at our businesses. We look at what has worked during the year and what has not. We set ourselves goals and targets for the next twelve months. We reset. As business leaders it can often be overwhelming to take stock and forward plan. If we are an SME we might be leading a small team, therefore decisions sit squarely with us as the only leader. As CEO’s of larger companies we may need to be taking ideas into the boardroom on how to maximise business growth and profit for 2022.
Podcasts can be a very helpful aid in our business journey. They give us access to experts and case studies for free. They are easily digestible in bitesized chunks. In 2020, fifteen million people listened to podcasts and that figure is set to grow. It is predicted that by 2024, close to 20 million of us will ingest information this way. We listen to podcasts on our phones, in the car and on our commute. A podcast allows us to digest information on our terms.
We have compiled a list of what we think are the top 5 best scale up and business growth podcasts to help you make those all important business decisions coming up to 2022.
#1 – The Transition Guy with Peter Boolkah. Peter Boolkah is a business expert and coach with over 30 years experience in helping organisations to upscale and grow, hence the Transition guy tag. His advice is relevant whether you are an SME or a large organisation. His Business Owners & Entrepreneurs Podcast promises to help you take control of your business (and your life) while growing and transitioning your business from one level to the next. The podcast features best-selling authors, keynote speakers, world-class coaches and business leaders.
#2 – The diary of a CEO with Steven Bartlett. This is a podcast from 29 year old former CEO of one of the UK’s fastest growing companies Social Chain, Steven Bartlett. He started his business from his bedroom on a laptop. Every week his guests who are all from different backgrounds, experiences and learnings, share insights with listeners. He gives you behind the scenes access to entrepreneurs and how they think.
#3 – The Disruptive Entrepreneur with Rob Moore. Rob Moore is an author of 9 business books including 5 UK bestsellers. He is a public speaker, entrepreneur, property investor, and property educator. His ‘The Disruptive Entrepreneur’ podcast tells us how to keep our marketing costs down. He gives us free marketing tactics such as how engaging with other influencers can help organically grow your market, the beauty of handwritten letters and how to grow your following on the new social media platform Clubhouse.
#4 – Accelerate Your Business Growth with Evergreen. This podcast is designed to help small business owners, salespeople, and aspiring entrepreneurs with the various aspects of business success. The podcast talks about everything from sales to employee issues; from technology to social media; from work-life balance to exploring uncharted territory. The aim is to help you remove challenges so that you can realise your own success with your business.
#5 – Masters of Scale with Reid Hoffman. Masters of Scale is hosted by Reid Hoffman, co-founder of LinkedIn and investor at Greylock. In each episode, Reid shows how companies grow from zero to a gazillion, testing his theories with legendary leaders.
