It’s officially that time of year: The end of summer is in sight and back-to-school is in full swing. While stocking up on clothes, shoes and school supplies is a given, college students may not have given any thought to their reading plans for the year. Amazon has, though: The mega online retailer and streaming service is offering university students a deal they simply won’t want to pass up on its popular Audible Premium Plus audiobook service.

Now through September 30, Amazon is offering Prime Student members three months of Audible Premium Plus, normally $14.95 a month, for free. In addition to being able to listen to books, podcasts and even textbooks at your leisure, Prime Student members will also be able to select three titles that they can keep. This is one of the best deals we’ve seen on Audible Premium Plus—it even beats the Prime Day offering, when Prime members scored $6.95-a-month pricing for four months.
When our tester gave Audible a try, she loved how easy the subscription made it to get reading again, even when life got busy, and she really appreciated the deep catalog of available titles. Craving a cheeky romance to distract you from the fact that your life is about to be filled with quizzes, tests and homework galore? You can’t go wrong with any of Jasmine Guillory’s novels, although The Proposal is a particular Audible listener fave. It’s a New York Times Bestseller, as well as a Reese’s Book Club pick. The premise? The story that unfolds when a public proposal goes wrong. As someone who has read it (and all of Guillory’s books), trust me: It’s good.
Prefer more of a thrill? If you’ve yet to read (or listen to!) The Girl on The Train by Paula Hawkins, now’s the time. It will keep you guessing from beginning to end, at which point you’ll be excited to know that there’s a movie to relive what’s likely to become one of your favorite books.
Intrigued but not a current Prime Student member? Eligible students can sign up for Amazon Prime Student after completing the enrollment verification process—and right now, new subscribers even get the normally $6.49-a-month service for free for the first six months. Either way, don’t let this deal get lost in the back-to-school shuffle—start listening now!
